MEET THE FOUNDER

From The Founder's Desk

Money makes the world go round, but without farmers as the backbone of the economy, most people won't be alive to make or spend money.

It all started with a simple belief: that everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves access to healthy affordable food and farmers, the power to cultivate their own prosperity. Witnessing the struggles of smallholder farmers firsthand, the backbreaking labor often yielding meager returns, ignited a fire within me. I knew I had to do something, to bridge the gap between potential and reality.

From humble beginnings, we've blossomed into a force for positive change. We empower farmers with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to thrive. We train them in sustainable & innovative farming practices, connect them to markets, and advocate for their rights. The journey hasn't been easy. There have been challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt. But every time I see a farmer's face light up with newfound confidence, with renewed hope for a better risk reward ratio, it fuels my determination.

Born not from privilege, but from the stark reality of hunger, Manoma Gaba is more than an NGO; it's a revolution. We don't just assist farmers in cultivating crops; we assist them in cultivating a better mindset. We see, not just farmers of the future, but young agricultural innovators, eyes gleaming with the promise of a secure and sustainable future beyond the farm fields.

The vision that sparked Manoma Gaba was born from experience in the sweat-soaked fields where I toiled as a child. Witnessing the backbreaking labor yield meager returns, the helplessness of watching seasons of drought without hope, ignited a fire within me. I knew change wasn't just necessary, it was urgent.

Manoma Gaba has just sprouted but we are growing a network of vibrant youth hubs, each a fertile ground for ideas to flourish. Here, the digital and the traditional farmers mingle, as young minds adopt innovation like mastering drones and hydroponics, weaving technology with tradition. They learn not just to grow crops, but to grow businesses, to become agripreneurs, the architects of a sustainable future.

THE ROAD AHEAD:

Our journey is far from over. The challenges of climate change, poverty, financial inclusion and inequality remain. But with each passing day, I see the seeds of hope we've sown taking root. I see farmers adopting climate-smart practices, I see women claiming their rightful place in the agricultural landscape, I see young people embracing technology to revolutionize the sector.

From my desk, I watch the future unfold, a future where Nigerian agriculture thrives, not just for survival, but for prosperity. A future where the fields teem with life, not just crops, but with the dreams and aspirations of a nation. And I know, with unwavering certainty, that together, we can cultivate that future, one seed at a time.

Stay tuned for more stories from the field, updates on our projects, and ways you can get involved in our mission. Remember, even the smallest contribution can make a world of difference.
